Make a Difference! Host an AFS high school exchange student for a semester or full school year. By Connecting Lives and Sharing Cultures, AFS Host Families are building a more just and peaceful world. You CAN make a difference. AFS has a partnership with the Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) Program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and which provides scholarships for students from former Soviet bloc countries in order to participate in a homestay here in the U.S.
